PFC of AC/DC Boost Converter with Different Control Techniques
Now a day's variety of power electronic system has extended to latest and outspread application. For equal volume of power transmission, a load with a less power factor extracts high current than a load with a high-power factor in electrical utility systems. Due to widespread use of high power electronic device there is some disadvantage like disturbances in power quality, voltage drop, and instant power interruption and also damage the industrial equipment. Because the current drawn from the semi conductor devices, from the line is the main distortion with high THD and low power factor. To made this electrical equipment, survive in industrial environment the power factor correction method is the best effective technique to reduce harmonic current and improve the power factor. In this work, power factor correction technique is developed, by using step up converter with different control technique in continuous conduction mode, which presenting the easy, simple and effective active PFC, with wave shaping control to the input current pulse drawn by the uncontrolled diode bridge rectifier. Hence in this way power factor near unity and good THD is achieved. Also it helps to control the DC-bus voltage response in the circuit.
