A Study on EEG Waves during Arulthiru Bangaru Adigalar Amma’s Mantra Chanting and Listening: Significance and Implications

This study explores the neurophysiological effects of Arulthiru Bangaru Adigalar Amma’s mantra chanting and listening sessions on brainwave patterns using electroencephalography (EEG). A total of 9 participants (3 males, 6 females, aged 25-50) underwent EEG recordings during mantra chanting and listening sessions. The results show significant changes in delta, theta, alpha and beta brainwave patterns, indicating a state of relaxation and reduced cortical activity. The study’s findings suggest a potential link between mantra chanting and listening and improved emotional well-being, cognitive flexibility and empowerment. However, further research is needed to fully understand the relationship between these practices and neurophysiological outcomes.
