Impact of Incubation and Funding on Business Strategy: A Case Study of Bhusmar Agro Foods Industries

This study examines the transformative impact of incubation support and funding mechanisms on the business strategy and growth trajectory of Bhusmar Agro Foods Industries, an emerging agri-tech startup based in Tamil Nadu, India. Through a longitudinal case study approach spanning 2023-2025, we analyze how institutional support from the Centre of Excellence in Biotechnology (CoEB) at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) influenced key business metrics, strategic decision-making, and market positioning. Our findings reveal a fivefold increase in annual turnover, significant product diversification, and successful market expansion following incubation. Statistical analysis of growth metrics before and after incubation demonstrates the correlation between institutional support and business success in the agri-tech sector. The study contributes to the growing literature on agri-tech entrepreneurship in developing economies and provides insights for policymakers and incubation program designers. The research highlights the crucial role of specialized agricultural incubators in fostering innovation, enhancing business sustainability, and accelerating the growth of agri-tech ventures in emerging markets.
