THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF THE INFLUENCE OF ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES ON POLYMERIC MATERIALS

The article presents a structural diagram of a microwave electrotechnological installation for studying non-thermal microwave effects on polymeric materials. The results of experimental studies are presented. Electromagnetic radiation has a significant effect on the properties and structure of polymeric materials. This effect manifests itself in various forms, including changes in mechanical properties, chemical decomposition, formation of structural defects and even degradation of the material. Studying the effect of electromagnetic waves on polymers is important for developing new technologies for processing and protecting materials from adverse environmental effects. The main types of interaction of electromagnetic waves with polymers are: resonant absorption, photochemical reaction, thermal destruction, optical effect. Studying the theoretical aspects of the effect of electromagnetic waves on polymeric materials is an important area of research. Understanding the mechanisms of interaction allows us to develop new technologies for processing and protecting polymers, which helps improve product quality and expand the areas of application of polymeric materials.
