EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF A THERMOELECTRIC GENERATOR IN A HEAT CHAMBER OF A HEAT NETWORK

One of today's popular alternative devices is the thermoelectric generator (TEG). TEG is compact and easy to operate and it has no rotating parts, which increases its lifetime. But when choosing a thermoelectric generator it is necessary to select the required thermoelectric modules (TEM) of which the TEG consists, such parameters should include the range of operating temperature and overall dimensions of thermoelectric modules. If the thermoelectric modules for the TEG are not selected correctly, they may simply fail due to overheating, which will melt the solder. Thermoelectric generators have great popularity in space, but still requires modernization of TEG design for application in rural areas, for example, the application of TEG in the heat chamber of the heat network is an actual direction for research, the relevance adds that in the underground heat chambers there is no electrical energy, and through the introduction of TEG in the heat network, applies heat losses of the heat network, which affects and increases the energy efficiency of energy saving and increases the energy efficiency of the heat network. The paper presents the experimental performance of the developed thermoelectric generator (TEG), which are obtained by installing it in the heat chamber of the heating network of a rural area. Different number of thermoelectric modules in series connection were investigated on the developed TEG design.
