FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF RIVAROXABAN TRANSDERMAL PATCH

The present study focuses on the formulation and Evaluation of a Rivaroxaban Transdermal Patch designed for controlled and localized drug delivery through the skin. Transdermal drug delivery system offers several advantages, including avoidance of first-pass metabolism, improved patient compliance, and steady drug release over extended periods. Rivaroxaban was used as the model drug, with HPMC as the polymer, PEG 600 as the plasticizer, and IPA as the solvent. Patches were prepared by the solvent casting method and evaluated for parameters like thickness, drug content, folding endurance, and in vitro drug release. The results showed uniformity and sustained drug release, indicating that the patch is suitable for effective transdermal delivery.
