Adversus paedagogia: la filosofía de la educación de Ernst Bloch
This article explores the main lines of Ernst Bloch’s pedagogical writings contained in the section “Ad Pädagogica” of his Philosophical Essays on Objective Fantasy. In addition to a general assessment of these writings, the author highlights some of their core themes, such as Bloch’s evaluation of modern pedagogy, the didactic problem of the translatability of the presuppositions of Marxism, the appropriate method of teaching philosophy, and the possibility of a committed science in a partial-partisan sense. The article shows how, in the face of the incongruence between the postulates of modern pedagogy and the capitalist society that finally developed, pedagogy that tends towards resignation can only be realized in its most original utopias through a thought that is committed to the transformation of the world.
