Highly selective notch filter based on a cylindrical dielectric resonator for 5.8 GHz dedicated short-range communications
This paper presents a notch filter based on a dielectric resonator for dedicated short-range communications. The dielectric resonator is a cylinder located near the signal microstrip line. The filter is designed and manufactured to reject the carrier at 5.8 GHz while allowing the transmission of modulated signals at (5.80 0.01) GHz.The manufactured prototype shows an insertion loss of 1.4 dB and 2.1 dB at 5.79 GHz and 5.81 GHz, respectively, and of 19.1 at 5.8 GHz.Thus, the carrier attenuation is at least 17.1 dB.The 3 dB-fraction bandwidth is only 0.23 %, ensuring a highly selective notch response.
