A Partial Current Pulse Response as an Alternative to EIS Measurements for Accurate Internal Temperature Estimation of Lithium-Ion Battery Cells
Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) has become an essential tool for battery characterization. However, traditional EIS measurements suffer from limitations in real-world applications. This work proposes a novel approach to address these limitations by supplementing EIS measurements with partial current pulse measurements. The results revealed a strong correlation between impedance obtained from EIS and pulse excitations. Moreover, a possible utilization of such data for internal temperature estimation is discussed.
