CMOS Capacitor-Coupled Based Instrumentation Amplifier For ECG Signal Acquisition

A capacitor-coupled based instrumentation amplifier (CCIA) is a crucial circuit for an analog front-end ECG signal acquisition. The CCIA is an essential component for demanding in wearable and IoMT devices. On response to this needs, a low power, low input-referred noise (IRN), high common-mode-rejection-ratio (CMRR) and total harmonic distortion (THD) using UMC $0.18-\mu m$ standard CMOS technology has been designed at a transistor level. The Miller op-amp of the CCIA is designed in weak inversion region. This instrumentation amplifier is well simulated at PVT (process, supply, temperature) for its performance metrics such as closed loop gain, CMRR, IRN, THD and power consumption. The maximum power consumption is $\mathbf{1. 7 3 6} \mu \mathrm{Watt}$. The CCIA circuit is tested by using the Physionet ECG database. This circuit enhances the signal processing capabilities and enables accurate data acquisition.
