Quadband E shaped Striped Antenna for Microwave and Millimeter Applications

With the rapid growth in wireless technology, the need for effectively using the bandwidth and miniaturization has aroused. A quadband E-shaped stripped antenna and its 1 X 2 MIMO antenna are designed. To improve gain and antenna efficiency, the slots are cut in patch to obtain stripped shape. The substrate is chosen to have a low dielectric constant Rogers RT/ duroid 5880 with a relative permittivity of 2.2 to enhance performance of the antenna. The antennas are developed in Ansys HFSS Tool and their performance is analysed for various parameters. The results prove that the MIMO antenna improves gain, directivity, total efficiency and maximum radiation intensity by 24.56%, 23.55%, 16.34% and 75.51% respectively. The bandwidth varies from (38.3-253.1) MHz for MIMO antenna. However, it converts into a narrow beamwidth by 35.29%.
