IoT-Driven EV Battery Management System with Real-Time Monitoring and Fire Safety
Electric vehicles (EVs) are becoming more and more popular, which has increased the standard for battery management systems (BMS) to improve longevity, safety, and energy economy. Thermal runaway dangers and less-than-ideal energy use are caused by the shortcomings of traditional BMS systems, which include real-time monitoring, predictive fault detection, fire safety, etc. The study presents an IoT-driven BMS which provides features including automated fire safety features, AI-based defect detection and predictive maintenance, and real-time data collecting to overcome these obstacles. It suggests that by utilizing components like cloud-based analytics, IoT sensors, and thermal imaging for continuous health and performance monitoring, battery health and performance are improved. The proposed system outperforms the traditional BMS solution in terms of fault detection accuracy (95%), temperature control performance (±1.5°C), and energy efficiency (94%), all of which can greatly improve the long-term dependability and safety of EVs. The result provides a method to improve the overall longevity and efficiency of EV batteries.
