Analysis of spring rape varieties and its role in the forage production and animal feeding system
The aim of the work was to analyze spring rapeseed varieties approved for use in the Russian Federation at the end of 2024, to evaluate some varieties bred by the FRC KazSC RAS in terms of nutritional value and quality for integration into the forage production and feeding system. It was established that the share of domestic varieties of spring rape in the State Register is 33.3%, and the leading originator in terms of the number of varieties included in the State Register is the All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops (54.8%). Over the past 5 years, 40.3% of spring rapeseed varieties from the total number approved for use have been included in the State Register. The maximum number of varieties are approved for use in the Central Black Earth Region (5) and the West Siberian Region (10) – 61.3% of the total each. The largest number of varieties (23.1%) are approved for use in 12 regions. In the Russian Federation as a whole, in the Volga Federal District, the Republic of Tatarstan, we observe a trend of increasing the areas under spring rapeseed, which is most pronounced in agricultural organizations of the Volga Federal District and the Republic of Tatarstan, and in farms of all categories from the point of view of the Russian Federation. The gross harvest of spring rapeseed seeds is increasing. Its dynamics are similar to that for the areas under crops. No significant changes in yield have been identifiedIn the Republic of Tatarstan, rapeseed has a high content of fat (41.8–43.3%) and protein (28.5–29.5%) in seeds. Varieties bred in the Republic of Tatarstan (Yumart and Yuldash) have an advantage over the standard Rif variety and can be recommended for obtaining high-energy and high-protein animal feed and effectively integrated into the region's forage production.
