The Romanian Version of the Youth Anxiety Measure for DSM-5

Abstract: The present study aimed to investigate the psychometric properties, factorial structure, and measurement invariance of the Romanian version of the Youth Anxiety Measure part I (YAM-5-I) reported by parents and the self-reported version YAM-5-I+. We included two samples, one sample of children and adolescents ( N = 637), M age = 13.41 years, SD = 2.44, age range 10–18 for the validation of YAM-5-I+ and a large sample of parents ( N = 1,512, M age = 41.34 years, SD = 5.94, child’s age range 8–18) for the validation of the parent version of YAM-5-I. The factorial structure of the parent version of YAM-5-I confirmed the 5-factor solution, and the self-reported version YAM-5-I+ confirmed a 6-factor solution. Measurement invariance was supported for both YAM-5-I and YAM-5-I+. In conclusion, the scale provided good internal consistency and concurrent and divergent validity. Implications for measurement-based care in anxiety disorders are discussed.
