Progress in the Treatment Technique of Medium- and Low-Compressibility Soil Foundations under High-Speed Railway Subgrade

In the past, medium–low-compressibility soil foundations were reinforced by using pile foundations that penetrated through the layer. In this paper, a large number of indoor and field tests have been conducted to prove that medium–low-compressibility soils have the characteristics of low moisture content, low porosity, high strength, and strong bearing capacity. In order to fully utilize its bearing capacity, field tests are performed and then corresponding optimization methods and measures for foundation treatment under different geological distributions of medium–low-compressibility soil foundations are proposed. The experimental results show that the displacement of the subgrade built on medium–low-compressibility soil foundation meets the regulatory requirements after the optimization scheme. The optimized foundation treatment scheme can greatly save the cost of foundation treatment, shorten the foundation treatment time, and improve the technical level of medium–low-compressibility soil foundation treatment.
