MODELING OF TRAFFIC FLOW CHARACTERISTICS ON CONGESTED ROAD SECTIONS BASED ON REAL DATA STUDY
This paper presents research results based on real traffic flow data. It analyzes the traffic flow characteristics of arterial, secondary, and local roads under congestion and reveals the spatial - temporal features of traffic congestion across roads of different functional classes. After mathematically processing raw data, including removing anomalies and filling in missing data, credible results were obtained. Significant differences in traffic congestion characteristics and model accuracy across road classes were found, with the best model fit achieved on secondary and local roads. For the first time, this study combines traffic congestion analysis with road hierarchy, offering a theoretical basis for congestion evaluation and identification.
