Effects of perioperative administration of acetaminophen on postoperative shivering
Post-anesthetic shivering (PAS) is a frequent complication following neuraxial anesthesia, adversely affecting patient recovery by increasing oxygen consumption, intracranial pressure, and cardiac workload. Current pharmacologic interventions have varying efficacy and safety profiles. Acetaminophen, with its central prostaglandin synthesis inhibition, is a promising, underexplored anti-shivering agent.
