Electrochemical Hydroarylation of Alkenes To Access Dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones
A mild and efficient electricity-driven strategy has been developed for the synthesis of 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-one derivatives through the selective radical hydroarylation of acrylic acid derivatives with quinazolin-4(3H)-ones under ambient conditions. The method successfully applies to a wide variety of acrylic acid derivatives, including acrylate, acrylamide, and acrylic acid, as well as structurally diverse quinazolin-4(3H)-ones, while exhibiting excellent functional group tolerance. This facile electricity-driven strategy eliminates the necessity for transition-metal catalysts, chemical oxidants, or reductants, thereby providing a sustainable protocol for the synthesis of dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones.
