Comparative Analysis of Student Performance in Online vs. Offline Examination

In this research paper, I have briefly described the topic “Comparative Analysis of Student Performance in Online vs. Offline Examination.” Because of digital technology advancing at a fast pace, exams are now mostly given online due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This study examines perceived differences in how students view online and classroom examinations and how these differences may impact academic opportunities. The analysis highlighted important features such as convenience, the readiness of technology, academic integrity and the environmental effects of education. Results show that students view online and offline exams positively, showing they are accepted by the community. Nevertheless, differences in opinions about online exams exist, with males having much more positive views than females. No differences are seen, though, when it comes to offline exams. The paper outlines that online exams give students more flexibility, are cheaper and can be applied to more people, yet there are also concerns about cheating and some people lacking Internet access. Alternatively, offline exams are consistent and less likely to have cheating but are expensive to carry out, cannot be done in large numbers and are not environmentally friendly. The findings highlight the importance of using assessment methods that are fair, help with technological gaps and support all types of students. With the findings from real-world experiences, this study helps the conversation on developing exam practices in today’s educational settings.
