OS ARQUIVOS MUNICIPAIS PORTUGUESES E O ÍNDICE DE TRANSPARÊNCIA MUNICIPAL relações entre transparência e gestão da informação arquivística

Only a few Portuguese municipalities recognize the Archive as an information management service, represented in the organization chart, with human and financial resources and internal and external visibility. This is an exploratory study that cross the results of the most recent studies on information professionals in Portuguese municipal archives and the Municipal Transparency Indexdeveloped bythe Transparency and Integrity Association for 2017. It aims to verify if there is a relationship between the ranking of municipalities in the index and parameters relating to municipal archives: recognition of the archives service; its openness to the public; the existence of online archival description platforms; and the availability of online digital services. The data relating to the last three parameters were collected by the author between June and August 2024 through municipalities' websites, while the first two are provided by the study by Silva et al.(2023b).
