Ultra-selective detection of radionuclide Sr2+<i>via</i> tuning valence Eu3+ to Eu2+ in lanthanide clusters
A europium-nickel nanocluster probe (Eu-NiCs) was engineered <i>via</i> valence-programmable synthesis for selective Sr2+ detection. This one-step hydrothermal design achieves unmatched selectivity (Sr2+/Ba2+ = 14.7) and a 2.1 μg g-1 detection limit.
