Ways to overcome difficulties in teaching foreign language professional communication to technical university students

The study aims to identify ways to overcome difficulties caused by various types of barriers in the process of teaching foreign language professional communication to technical university students. The article examines the content of the concepts “barrier”, “language barrier”, and other types of barriers that affect the emergence of difficulties in teaching foreign language professional communication. Subjective and objective factors are added to the content of the terms as characteristics of barriers and difficulties of foreign language professional communication. The study is novel in that it is the first one to systematize and present ways to solve the problem of the emergence of barriers and overcome difficulties in teaching foreign language professional communication in a real educational situation in a technical university. As a result of the study, objective and subjective factors influencing the emergence of barriers and difficulties in teaching foreign language professional communication were identified, and the skills that should be actively formed to reduce the impact of such factors were determined. The process of overcoming and preventing the emergence of barriers is complex in didactic, methodological and psychological terms and is based on the formation of skills that contribute to overcoming the barriers. The article presents the content of the activities of the teacher and student in the formation of these skills and provides a description of the interim results of the work of teachers of a technical university who used the proposed activities when teaching foreign language professional communication. The results of the study confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed methods of overcoming difficulties in teaching foreign language professional communication to technical university students.
