First person – Ingrid Augusto

ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Ingrid Augusto is first author on ‘ The adhesion plaque mediates the fluid discharge and duplication of the contractile vacuole complex in Trypanosoma cruzi’, published in JCS. Ingrid is a postdoc in the lab of Kildare Miranda at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, investigating the molecular and structural architecture of trypanosomatids using advanced bioimaging methods, including cryo-electron microscopy and volume electron microscopy.
