On the Protection of Consumers’ Right to Know in E-Commerce

Against the backdrop of the vigorous development of the digital economy, e-commerce has become one of the core engines driving global economic growth. However, the virtual trading environment has brought many challenges to the protection of consumers’ rights and interests. This article deeply analyzes the legal predicaments faced by consumers’ rights and interests protection in the field of e-commerce, including the problems caused by the virtuality of the transaction environment, the boundless openness of the transaction time and space, and the complex diversity of the participating subjects. Through theoretical analysis and practical case studies, combined with China’s national conditions and the current situation of e-commerce development, improvement paths such as constructing a dynamic commodity quality supervision system, strengthening the design of personal information protection systems, and innovating the online dispute resolution mechanism (ODR) have been proposed. The research results show that by improving relevant laws, regulations and supervision mechanisms, consumers’ rights and interests can be effectively guaranteed and the stable and sustainable development of e-commerce can be promoted.
