Implications: Despite these advancements, critical research gaps persist, particularly concerning the long-term effects of digital ecosystems, intersectional challenges, and the real-world efficacy of policy interventions, green knowledge, innovation, social commerce adoption, and institutional factors. By synthesizing prevailing themes and identifying future research directions, this review offers valuable insights for academics, policymakers, and practitioners aiming to foster inclusive, technology-driven, and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystems. Highlights • Comprehensive review of women’s entrepreneurship (2020–2025). • Focus on digital transformation and crisis resilience. • Critical evaluation of socio-cultural and institutional factors. • Proposes a forward-looking research agenda for global ecosystems. • Practical insights for policy and entrepreneurial support systems.
