Measuring System for Weight and Center of Gravity of Pipe Gallery Module

Pipe Gallery modules are widely used in petrochemical industry because of their high cost performance, short delivery time and good safety. However, after the design and segmentation of the whole gallery, it is necessary to know clearly the specific weight and the coordinates of the center of gravity of each gallery module. Otherwise, when drawing, lifting and assembling the pipe gallery modules, there may be inclination, partial overload and structural instability, which is not conducive to the long-term use and maintenance of the pipe gallery, and there are potential safety hazards. In this paper, several hydraulic jacks are uniformly arranged under the pipe gallery module, and weight sensors are installed on each hydraulic jack. When hydraulic jacks lift the pipe gallery module, the weight signals of all sensors are connected in series with RS485 bus and output to the computer. Combining the relative position coordinates and the weight load of each sensor, the total weight of the gallery module and the position coordinates of the center of gravity can be accurately measured. This measurement method is much more accurate than the theoretical estimation. It provides real data support for the design and assembly of the pipe gallery module. It is conducive to optimizing the design and division of the pipe gallery module and improving the assembly efficiency, long-term stability and security of the pipe gallery module.
