Performance Analysis of HARQ in Low-Orbit Satellite Networks
Satellite communication has been identified as a pivotal element in the overarching vision of 6G mobile communication. Enhancing the reliability of high-dynamic satellite communication link connections is a subject of significant interest within the satellite communication domain. The conventional Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) technology faces considerable challenges, including the degradation of transmission performance guarantee capability due to long delays and high Block Error Rate (BLER). This study investigates the performance simulation and adaptability analysis of HARQ technology in the context of Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite communication. In conjunction with the 3GPP proposal on the performance metrics of HARQ technology, the performance metrics of HARQ for satellite communication are revised. Furthermore, establishing a satellite Internet system-level simulation platform is imperative for realizing the simulation components of the HARQ function. In conclusion, an analysis of the performance of HARQ in the context of LEO satellite internet system configurations and conditions is required.
