Miniaturized Proximity Coupled Fabric Patch Antenna Design for Wearable Applications
We present a miniaturized proximity coupled fabric patch antenna that operates within the UHF band at 915 MHz for wearable applications. The patch is miniaturized using the L-slot technique, and the patch, microstrip line, and ground plane are made of conductive fabric, making the antenna well-suited for wearable applications. Simulated and measured results, including reflection coefficient, radiation pattern, gain, and radiation efficiency, are discussed. Additionally, transmission coefficient measurements indicate the antenna's capability for RF harvesting, suggesting its utility in the development of wireless and battery-free sensors in wearable applications.
