Research on Weighted Geometric Dilution of Precision in GNSS Positioning
In the single-point positioning with the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), the geometric dilution of precision (GDOP) is an important index for satellite selection. However, the GDOP requires that the measurement errors of all the tracked satellites have the same accuracy level. Generally, in GNSS positioning, the measurement errors of tracked satellites can be evaluated by a weighted matrix. After introducing a weighted matrix into a traditional GDOP, the GDOP can be extended as the weighted GDOP (namely, the WGDOP). In this paper, we mainly analyze and discuss the change of the WGDOP with the weighted matrix. Experimental results verify these theoretical derivations and analyses.
