Peak Current Mode Control Chip for IoT Applications

With the increasing demand for high-efficiency, compact power management integrated circuits (PMICs) in portable electronic devices, this paper presents the design of a BUCK converter control chip based on peak current mode control (PCMC). The chip aims to meet the modern requirements for high efficiency, small size, and fast dynamic response, while achieving synergistic optimization of high integration. By adopting the PCMC strategy, the chip can detect the peak inductor current in real time and directly control the switching of power transistors. Furthermore, the chip integrates control circuits, power devices, and protection functions into a single chip, significantly reducing system complexity and cost.
