THE ETNOGRAPHIC RELATIONS OF THE SCATTERED HUNGARIANS: LINKS AND ASSIMETRICS IN A FEW EXAMPLES

The writer of this study searches the answer to the question "will the scatter situation result in a full assimilation as some linguistic and sociological studies say or are there some other ways that haven't been examined yet neither from sociolingvistic, nor the linguistic policy's point of view.Would the correct exploration of these questions and the proper language policy environment result in the remaining of the scatter situation, slowing or stopping the disadvantageous processes?"Most of the Hungarian population in the historical Hungarian language area (according to the writer of this study, all the places where Hungarian speaking population could be found since the 15th century belong here) ended up in a scatter situation by the 17th-18th century.Nowadays roughly a million Hungarian lives in a "classic" scatter situation in the Carpathian Basin. The mentioned above large territory represented a larger proportion of the Hungarian linguistic and cultural memory than we would inferred from the number of Hungarians remaining in these regions. One well-known example: Szermsg and Bnt in the rpd era were the central cultural areas of Hungary. That's why the complex examination of this large area's linguistic and cultural interactions is so important, moreover, the refinement of documenting-dramatizing approaches, because the etnocultural treasure and survival of three dozen counties should be a regional public matter.
