Gender differences in the association between impulsivity and drug craving among Chinese methamphetamine use disorder patients
This study intends to explore the difference and relationship between male and female patients with MUD (methamphetamine use disorder) drug craving and impulsiveness, and analyze the characteristics of drug abuse, impulsiveness score and drug craving performance of patients. Male patients have a longer duration of drug abuse, and the scores of exercise and attention impulsiveness are lower, which is closely related to stronger drug craving. It is worth noting that in the male group, the impulsiveness score shows a significant correlation with the frequency and control of drug craving, while the female group does not show the same trend. Multiple regression analysis shows that the duration of drug abuse, exercise-related conditions and attention impulsiveness score are the main predictive points of male drug craving, and gender differences and impulsiveness are key in the performance of drug craving in MUD patients. These factors should be taken into account in clinical intervention to implement more personalized treatment measures.
