Research progress of artificial intelligence-enabled microneedle technology in the treatment of myocardial infarction

Myocardial Infarction (MI) is a cardiovascular disease caused by coronary artery occlusion leading to myocardial ischemia and ischemic necrosis, with high morbidity and mortality, and there are certain limitations in the current traditional treatment methods. Microneedle technology, as a new type of minimally invasive drug delivery and tissue repair means, has received widespread attention in myocardial infarction treatment in recent years. Microneedle can precisely deliver drugs, cells or bioactive molecules to the infarcted area to promote myocardial repair and functional recovery. This review introduces the working principle of microneedle technology and its advantages in medical application, categorizes the types of microneedles and introduces their advantages and disadvantages, and details the specific applications of microneedles as a technological means of infarction treatment in drug delivery, tissue repair, and minimally invasive therapy. In addition, this paper focuses on the role of CAD in material selection and structure optimization of microneedles, and the principles of correlation vector machine algorithms and the application of AI-assisted technologies in surgical assistance and treatment optimization, as well as their potential for clinical translation, are described in detail as examples.
