Time Dependent Three-Dimensional Break Out Morphology Development using Multi-Physics BHI Data, Breidablikk Field F. Bender
Summary Current drilling strategy requires shale sequences to be drilled with mud weights far below the modelled and empirically ( Bender et al. 2023 ) determined shear failure gradient and hence causes the need for accepting a large degree of shear failure (break outs). In this work we are quantifying the three-dimensional, time dependent morphological development of these break outs by combining high resolution acoustic borehole image data with lower resolution but larger volume sensitive short & long spaced density image main pass and relog data.
