Zirconia Resin-bonded Bridges: An Alternative Approach for Minimally Invasive Dental Prostheses Using the Computer-aided Design/Computer-aided Manufacturing Technology: A Case Report

In spite of the successful outcomes of the metal-ceramic RBB after a 10-year follow-up, the desire for metal-free work without gray color and maximum biocompatibility, associated with the development of high-strength ceramic materials, including lithium disilicate and zirconia, performed with computer-aided design/ computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology, leads to all-ceramic RBBs.Computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) are based on two phases: the design (CAD) and the manufacturing (CAM) phases.

Abstract

In spite of the successful outcomes of the metal-ceramic RBB after a 10-year follow-up, the desire for metal-free work without gray color and maximum biocompatibility, associated with the development of high-strength ceramic materials, including lithium disilicate and zirconia, performed with computer-aided design/ computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology, leads to all-ceramic RBBs.Computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) are based on two phases: the design (CAD) and the manufacturing (CAM) phases.
