Research on the Impact of Public Satisfaction with Fitness Services in Liaoning Province on the Sports Lifestyle of Urban Residents

This study is grounded in the theoretical frameworks of New Public Service, Customer Satisfaction, and Sports Lifestyle. A structural equation model with mediation effects is developed to investigate how public fitness service satisfaction influences the formation of sports lifestyles among urban residents. Using survey data collected from a representative sample in Liaoning Province, the empirical findings demonstrate that satisfaction with public services exerts a significant positive direct effect on residents’ sports lifestyles. Additionally, two mediating variables—perceived benefit of public services and exercise investment—are identified as significant indirect pathways. Among them, exercise investment exhibits a stronger mediating effect. The results support a three-stage transformation mechanism of “cognition-affect-behavior,” offering theoretical contributions to the understanding of public service effectiveness and practical implications for advancing national fitness strategies and fostering sustainable, health-oriented lifestyles.
