Unusual Foreign Body in Vallecula—Watch What You Eat!: A Case Report
Foreign bodies in the aerodigestive tract are routinely encountered in otorhinolaryngology.Initial history and endoscopic examination followed by radiographs are routinely done.Removal is the treatment modality with the help of direct laryngoscopy or esophagoscopy, depending on the site of the foreign body. Here, we report a case of a 55-year-old female who presented with a neglected foreign body in the vallecula, after having accidentally ingested a piece of a stainless-steel utensil scrubber, which was removed under direct laryngoscopic vision.
