Ranked Block Model, an integration of rockmass behavior and mining characteristics into a resource model
ABSTRACT: The success of underground mining companies relies on the quality of mineral resources, rock mass behavior, and the challenges associated with mining operations. In this context, a ranking system capable of classifying and prioritizing the workability of different mineral resources under varying rock mass conditions within a block model framework can enhance decision-making. This approach extends beyond mineral content by incorporating key geomechanical challenges such as rock mass strength, induced stress, and orebody geometry. The block model provides a comprehensive assessment of mineral resources, facilitating a strategic exploration program that prioritizes the conversion of high-value resources into reserves. By integrating the most relevant factors influencing financial outcomes in underground mining, this methodology supports more effective planning and operational efficiency.
