Performance Evaluation of Sic Mosfet-Based Inverter for Individual Blade Control in Electrical Aircraft
The propeller blade plays a crucial role in influencing the flying performance of the propulsion system in an aircraft. Individual blade-controlled propellers can provide a valuable solution for reducing vibration and improving rotor performance. The blade inverter is typically housed within an enclosed space relying on natural convection cooling. Individual blade-controlled propellers operate in multiple modes, and their inverters must withstand significant thermal stress. This paper evaluates the performance of a SiC MOSFET-based inverter in individual blade-controlled propellers, utilizing both datasheet-based and measurement-based loss simulations. Thermal performance is further investigated through simulation using heatsink with natural convection cooling.
