Modulated Model Predictive Control for Current Source Inverter Fed Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drive System
To address the challenges of sluggish dynamic response and intricate parameter calibration in current source inverter-permanent magnet synchronous motor (CSI-PMSM) systems, this paper proposes a novel dual-loop model predictive control (MPC) architecture. Among them, the AC-side loop is used to control the filter capacitor voltage and the motor stator current; the DC-side loop is used to control the inductor current. The ACside adopts modulated model predictive control, combined with space vector modulation technology, which makes the CSI work at a fixed switching frequency and improves the steady-state performance of the system. And a cost function including the tracking control of the filter capacitor voltage is designed, which can effectively suppress the LC resonance. A prediction model of the DC/DC converter is built on the DC-side, and the control of the inductor current is realized by predicting its trajectory. Therefore, better inductor current control accuracy can be obtained no matter in the transient state or in the steady state. Finally, a hardware experiment platform is built to verify the control strategy proposed in this paper. The experimental results confirm the good steady-state performance and dynamic performance of the proposed strategy.
