Stability Analysis of Grid-Connected Doubly Fed Wind Power Generation Systems Under Fault Conditions

The advancement of wind power technology has driven the continuous growth of the single-unit capacity of wind turbines. Against this backdrop, doubly-fed induction generators have been widely adopted due to their advantages such as variablespeed constant-frequency output, flexible grid connection, and low equipment costs. The stator side of doubly-fed wind turbines is directly connected to the grid, and their high sensitivity to gridside faults poses significant challenges to system stability. Maintaining the stable operation of doubly-fed wind turbines during faults has become an important research topic in the field of wind power technology. This paper addresses the stability issues of the grid-connected doubly-fed wind power generation system by designing a control method for the rotor-side converter based on q -axis voltage orientation. This method achieves independent decoupling of active and reactive power, as well as reactive compensation. Additionally, by simulating grid connection point voltage increases, drops, and harmonic distortions, we observe the stable operation characteristics of the system when connected to the grid. The results of the study indicate that under this control strategy, the doubly-fed system can maintain stable operation during fault conditions.
