Loss Analysis of Switching Device Based on SHE-PWM in PMSM Vector Control

At present, the electricity consumption of the motor drive system accounts for a large part of the entire industrial electricity consumption. In response to the national dual-carbon strategy, further reducing the loss of switching devices to improve the efficiency of inverters is still the future research direction. In this paper, finite element analysis method is used to obtain experimental Motor parameters through motor CAD, and a three-phase two-level PMSM double closed-loop vector control system is built by MATLAB/Simscape. The control circuit adopts the maximum torque-current ratio strategy in order to improve current utilization and reduce motor loss. Based on the SHE-PWM modulation strategy, the loss of the switching device of the inverter circuit is measured and the influence of the three-phase current total harmonic distortion rate on the loss of the power device is analyzed. In addition, this paper also tested several other PWM modulation schemes, measured the converter loss at different motor operating points and switching frequencies, and finally compared the measurement results of various modulation strategies. The experimental results verify the modulation method of SHEPWM, which can eliminate high order harmonics, can effectively reduce the switching loss for PMSM double-closed-loop vector control system. Besides, this article combines various modulation strategies with known superior control algorithms to attempt to optimize the PWM modulation strategy of each working area of the motor, achieving a reduction in inverter losses.
