Predictive Control for Interleaved Totem-Pole Bridgeless PFC Converter Operating in Both Continuous and Discontinuous Conduction Mode
This paper proposes a duty cycle predictive control algorithm to improve current distortion in interleaved parallel totem-pole power factor correction (PFC) converter. In PFC converters, the input current is typically distorted due to the characteristics of the proportional-integral (PI) current controller. Compared with traditional PI control, predictive control offers the advantages of simpler computation and more straightforward implementation. This paper employs a predictive control algorithm to detect the conduction mode and automatically adjust the duty cycle. Simulation tests are carried out in MATLAB/Simulink. The results show that the proposed method has better performances in improving the dynamic performance of the converter and current harmonic suppression.
