Resilience-Oriented Optimization with Electric Vehicles and Vehicle-to-Grid in Power Distribution-Transportation Network Under Post-Disaster Stage

The frequent occurrence of extreme disasters has raised higher demands for the resilience of infrastructure systems. Electric vehicles (EVs) can be regarded as mobile energy storage resources, providing emergency power supply to critical loads in the power distribution network (DN) through Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology, enhancing the resilience of DN. With EVs and V2G being part of the transportation network (TN) simultaneously, they tighten the coupling and increase the interdependence between DN and TN. This paper constructs a multiperiod coupled model of DN and TN including EV traffic route, V2G management and DN dynamic reconfiguration to optimize both load recovery and the transportation travel costs, aimed at enhancing the resilience of the power distribution-transportation network (DTN). Numerical simulation will demonstrate the feasibility and advantages of using EVs to provide backup power to the grid through V2Gs while ensuring the lowest travel costs.
