Research on Loss Optimization Method of Power Signal Dual Modulation in ZVT-BUCK Converters

Power Signal Dual Modulation (PSDM) integrates power transmission and information communication, effectively saving communication costs and space. Among these, Phase Shift Keying (PSK) is a crucial information modulation strategy that embeds information into the phase of input/output switching ripples by switching carrier phases, transmitting data through the common power bus. In this study, power signal dual modulation is applied to a ZVT-Buck converter. However, the research reveals that PSK modulation introduces carrier phase switching, leading to sudden state transitions in the PWM signals and an increase in equivalent switching actions. To address this issue, this paper proposes an optimized strategy that dynamically adjusts the timing of carrier phase switching. Theoretical analysis demonstrates that corresponding advanced timing instants under different duty cycles can effectively eliminate transient high-low level transitions in PWM signals, while ensuring the correct demodulation of information symbols. This method significantly reduces switching loss in the converter, improves power conversion efficiency, and maintains accurate information transmission. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.
