Energy-Power-Current Coordinated Control Strategy of Integrated System Comprising Mmc and Submodule-Configured-Distributed Energy Storage
Energy storage technology is crucial for the global energy transition, especially with the increasing share of renewable energy. Distributed Energy Storage (DES) and Modular Multilevel Converters (MMC) integration can enhance power grid performance, yet current control strategies face challenges. This paper presents an advanced energy-power-current coordinated control strategy for the integrated system of MMC and submodule - configured DES. The superposition theorem is used for detailed system modeling, and a coordinated controller is designed based on the current model. Simulation results show that under different ES power conditions, the three - phase AC currents have low total harmonic distortion rates, energy balance among different stacks is achieved, and the RMS value of stack currents decreases with the increase of ES power. The proposed control strategy is effective and can maintain stable and efficient MMC operation in various scenarios.
