Analysis and Control of Transient Stability for Phase Angle Jump in Grid-Forming Devices
This paper focuses on the transient stability issue of phase angle jumps in grid-forming devices under both strong and weak grid conditions. Through an in-depth analysis of the impact of phase angle jumps on the dynamic characteristics of the system, core approaches to improve the transient stability of phase angle jumps are proposed. Based on this, a control scheme combining power setpoint switching and phase compensation is designed to suppress phase angle jumps and enhance system stability. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed control strategy effectively improves the phase angle dynamic performance of grid-forming devices during transient processes, significantly enhancing transient stability under both strong and weak grid conditions. This study provides a theoretical foundation and practical solutions for the stable operation of gridforming devices in complex grid environments.
