Penggunaan Metode “Godly Play” dalam Pembentukan Iman Anak Sekolah Dasar: Studi Kajian Teologis dan Pedagogis

Faith formation in children within church and Sunday school settings often tends to emphasize cognitive aspects and memorization, frequently neglecting the personal and profound spiritual dimension of the child. This issue highlights the need for a theologically grounded, narrative, and reflective learning approach. This study aims to examine the theological principles of the Godly Play method and its implications for faith formation among children at the elementary education level. The method used is a qualitative literature study with a thematic analysis approach, drawing from various theological and Christian pedagogical sources. The findings indicate that Godly Play positions children as spiritual subjects, uses silence and narrative as sacred spaces for encountering God, and presents the Bible as a living and meaningful story. In conclusion, the strong theological foundation of Godly Play makes it an effective method for nurturing children’s faith in a holistic, participatory, and transformative manner, relevant to contemporary Christian education contexts.
