A note on the supersolvable residual of a finite group

In this paper, we investigate the supersolvable residual of a finite group. In particular, we not only simplify the proofs of some main theorems of Li and Wu [The formation residual of factorized finite groups, Acta Math. Hungar. 174(1)(2024) 202–208) and Yu [A note on a theorem of Baer, J. Algebra Appl 17(3)(2018) 1850044], but also generalize these results.

Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the supersolvable residual of a finite group. In particular, we not only simplify the proofs of some main theorems of Li and Wu [The formation residual of factorized finite groups, Acta Math. Hungar. 174(1)(2024) 202–208) and Yu [A note on a theorem of Baer, J. Algebra Appl 17(3)(2018) 1850044], but also generalize these results.
