MORPHOLOGY AND BIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF CLOSTRIDIUM BOTULINUM (ELECTRON MICROSCOPY)
The work is devoted to the study of the morphology (ultrastructure) and biological characteristics of Cl. botulinum during the development in the environment. Particular attention is paid to the ultrastructure of the organelles of the studied microorganisms. The presence of a five-layer cell wall in vegetative cells at a certain stage of development is shown. The presence of a five-layer cell wall in vegetative cells at a certain stage of development has been shown. The processes of vegetative cell growth with simultaneous formation of a spore at the end section were traced, upon the exit of which a complete lysis of the mother cell occurs. Crystal structures were found both around living vegetative cells and inside lysed cells. The obtained data can be used for further studies of the causative agent of botulism and understanding the process of exoneurotoxin formation.
